Members have 24/7 access to this historic space located at 290 State Street in New London, Connecticut.

Members may enjoy the clubhouse as they wish, for leisure or business, in our multiple rooms and event spaces. Members coordinate their professional use of the spaces with the General Manager and are mutually respectful of other members in the club.

Spouses and significant others share the same privileges as the member.

Dress code is business casual as in most private clubs today. Some events suggest a specific type of dress in the announcement.

Lunch is served 12 – 2 pm Tuesday and Thursday by our world-class chef Jon Logan. Pub food is also available on Music in the Pub Fridays and on any bowling league night.

Special events occur regularly for members and their guests.

Joining the Thames Club

The best way to learn about the club is to visit and meet some of our members.

We will be happy to give you a tour of the club, introduce you to the members who are present and you are welcome to join us for lunch or bites in the pub. Please call our manager, Mark, at 860-443-5504 to schedule a convenient time to visit, or you may just drop by during lunch or one of our Pub Music Fridays (6-8 pm). Just ring the doorbell at either the front State St. entrance or the rear Washington St. pub entrance and someone will welcome you.

Please ask questions. The Thames Club has evolved over the years to become the welcoming, diverse and less formal gathering place that we are today. We have both elegant and casual areas to relax, conduct business, and bring guests to enjoy Chef Jon’s cuisine. Many lifelong friendships began at the Thames Club and we look forward to meeting you soon.

If you are interested in becoming a member, you can fill out an application form at the club, or you can download one here. Your application will be reviewed by our admissions team and posted to introduce you to the members. It typically takes about two weeks to receive your acceptance letter. while you are waiting, you are welcome to attend any of the scheduled club events and join us for lunch or in the pub, simply let Mark know you’re coming.
